Fueling DoD’s northernmost installation
Once a year, when the weather and ice conditions allow, Defense Logistics Agency Energy experts plan for the delivery of fuel to the Defense Department’s northernmost installation, Thule Air Base, Greenland. In early August, the Military Sealift Command marine tanker ship, MAERSK PEARY, transported specialty jet fuel from Rotterdam, Netherlands, to the Defense Fuel Support Point on the air base.
