Langley one of four AFBs to test bio-based grease

JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Air Combat Command website — The 733rd Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Management Flight was chosen to participate in a 12-month long experimental testing of a new bio-based grease to lessen the base's impact on the environment.

Thinking outside of the box: 355th LRS enhances deliveries using Wi-Fi

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base website — The 355th Logistics Readiness Squadron devised a new method of tracking deliveries through Wi-Fi that has changed its efficiency of delivering supplies to more than 250 organizations.

Marine Corps strives to be leaner, meaner, greener

MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CENTER TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Marines website — As an ongoing effort to be the premier self-sufficient expeditionary force, the Marine Corps is striving to make itself leaner, meaner and “greener” as it takes a look at energy use across the Corps, equating the efficient use of vital resources with increased combat effectiveness.

Printing the future: MWSS-372 successfully tests 3-D printing in a field environment

Embracing Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller’s recent push for Marines to innovate, MWSS-372 is one of the first units to experiment with 3-D printing.

Bahrain distribution center participates in Army Watercraft testing mission

MANAMA, Bahrain — Due to an increase in responsibilities, DLA Distribution Bahrain was looking to tap into agency resources within the region, coordinating with DLA Disposition Kuwait to determine if demilitarization capabilities existed within its local mission. At the same time and as part of the process to establish the Trans Arabian Network, DLA Support Team - Kuwait was looking for opportunities to test the Army Watercraft mission.

Each year Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego, Calif., at Port Hueneme supports the National Science Foundation’s Antarctic research mission by participating in the yearly annual vessel load out.

Port Hueneme’s team supports annual Antarctic resupply mission

PORT HUENEME, California — Each year, the Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking Team at Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego at Port Hueneme, California, supports the National Science Foundation’s Antarctic research mission by helping load the NSF research ship. Due to Antarctica's harsh climate, the resupply occurs in January — summertime on the continent — when the ice is thinnest.
