RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency employees on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia celebrated the March Warrior Wednesday with a Spirit of Spring Fun Walk/Run.

Resiliency toolkit explored during Senior Leader Conference

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation senior leaders met on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, March 1 -3, reviewing 2015 successes and missed opportunities and the activity’s way forward for 2016. But the conference wasn’t just about the mission, leaders also focused on building a culture of innovation and resiliency through the sharing of personal testimonies and learning tools to enable them and their employees to adapt to and persevere in the face of personal and professional challenges.

Aviation Hall of Fame nominations accepted through March 31

RICHMOND, Va. — Nominations for Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s annual Hall of Fame for 2016 will be accepted March 9 - 31. The Aviation Hall of Fame honors former employees who have made significant and enduring contributions to DLA or DLA Aviatio

Richard Stewart, Army veteran, Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia retiree, and owner and orator of Pocahontas Island Black History Museum, shows slave shackles and chains that were pulled from the Appomattox River. These devices were used to bind Virginia slaves during that part of our nation’s history. Stewart served as the keynote speaker during the Black History Month Observance held at DSCR Feb. 25, 2016.

DLA celebrates Black History Month at DSCR by honoring local hallowed grounds

RICHMOND, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency employees on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, celebrated Black History Month with an observance held Feb. 25. The program, which was held in the Lott’s Conference center, included two documentaries, displays of artifacts, photos and other historical documents, a keynote speaker and songs performed by the Bellwood Choir.

Resiliency key message during African American History Month observance

PHILADELPHIA — Failure can be turned inside out if people simply stick it out. That message of resilience was delivered to NSA Philadelphia employees during an African American History Month observation Feb. 18.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Air Force Master Sgt. Shanon Johnson is named DLA senior Non-commissioned Officer of the Quarter, 1st Quarter 2016. Johnson earned this recognition in part through her role as an assistant B-1 weapon system program manager, serving an active role on the Air Force Supply Chain Working Group working diligently to ensure mission effectiveness, and for her volunteerism and leadership within the community with children, family, and wounded warriors.

Defense Logistics Agency Director Air Force Lt. Gen. Andy Busch met with DLA Aviation leadership during his fiscal 2016 Annual Operating Plan review held Feb. 5 in Richmond, Virginia. The intent of the half-day work session was to provide a bi-annual assessment of DLA Aviation's progress towards achieving its AOP goals and objectives and a look at the way ahead.

Beware of criminals impersonating IRS, Treasury employees in email, phone calls

Criminals are using telephone and email scams to pose as IRS employees and solicit money from taxpayers, including government employees. Knowing how these criminals present themselves and how you should respond if you receive a suspicious call will help you protect yourself.
