Excess equipment bolsters operational readiness

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md — The Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services is known for handling excess military property and is a trusted source of supply for the United States military when it comes to acquiring used equipment.

What DLA Disposition Services Really Does

Lansing, Michigan — A cargo truck once used by the military finds new life as a firefighting vehicle for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources thanks to the mission of DLA Disposition Services.

A former Navy utility boat arrives in New London, Connecticut, via tractor-trailer Nov. 30. Two surplus boats will be used to ferry passengers between historical sites along the Thames River as part of the new "Thames River Heritage Park" effort there.
