Local shelter gives thanks for DSCR generosity

Defense Supply Center Richmond employees and local organization Home Again Shelter have partnered this year to gather a cornucopia of donations for a Thanksgiving Food Drive. The workforce donated Thanksgiving meal items, which Home Again Shelter employees used to create meal kits for families in need throughout the Greater Richmond, Virginia, region.

Students from all 10 Chesterfield County, Virginia, high schools gathered together Oct. 22 at Chesterfield Career and Technical Center to hear Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Air Force Commander Brig. Gen. Linda Hurry tell them about DLA Aviation and share information about logistics career fields as well as the Pathways to Career Excellence (PaCE) and Pathways Internship programs currently available.

DLA celebrates the Air Force’s 71st birthday!

Airmen and Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees celebrated the Air Force’s 71st birthday Sept. 18, with a ceremony at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Air Force Commander Col. Terrence Kilgore, 345th Training Squadron, Fort Lee, Virginia, was the guest speaker. In his speech, he highlighted the Air Force’s 71st birthday theme: “American Airman … Wingman, Leader, Warrior.” He called the theme befitting for a service that encompasses all three character traits.

DLA Aviation hosts future agents of change for Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

From youngsters and tweens to teens, over 150 sons and daughters of Defense Logistics Agency employees from Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia swarmed the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center April 26 to participate in “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.” Hosted by the DLA Aviation Customer Operations Directorate and Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity, the event this year ran under the theme “Service Force: Agents of Positive Change.”
