Government testing facility celebrates 100 years in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Product Test Center Analytical’s mission began in 1919 at the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot in an effort to instruct military personnel on the scientific approach to textile procurement for uniforms. One hundred years later, the mission continues on, ensuring the products purchased for warfighters and other government customers meet the quality specifications to survive the varied conditions required.

Retired petroleum officer inducted into DLA Energy Hall of Fame 

U.S. Army Quartermaster Hall of Fame member, retired U.S. Army Col. Gregory D. Gibbons, was credited for the successful management of fuel operations during Desert Shield and Desert Storm was inducted into the Defense Logistics Agency Energy Hall of Fame, Nov. 13.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Joint Base San Antonio website — In the early morning hours of Nov. 15, U.S. Army North personnel at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston quietly loaded 100 excess laptops and peripherals into a rental trailer, which departed the area headed east. Its final destination was Wilkinson County High School in Woodville, Mississippi, thanks to the Department of Defense’s Computers for Learning program.
