Initiatives foster a positive work culture at DLA in Jacksonville

For roughly the past four years, senior military and civilian leadership at Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Jacksonville, Florida, have been developing an all-inclusive, purpose-driven team that aligns with the “Warfighter Always” readiness line of effort within the DLA Strategic Plan 2021 - 2026. That LOE states DLA’s support to the warfighter is job one. It’s our core strategic priority. We must provide the right support in the right places at the right times.

More than a dozen representatives from Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s Customer Operations Directorate’s Mapping Customer Operations, DLA Data Production Operations, DLA Information Operations and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, participated in a print-on-demand site tour and ribbon cutting ceremony at DLA Document Services on Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, July 14.

Aggressive contaminated groundwater cleanup efforts on DCSR discussed during RAB

For the first time in more than a year, community members could attend the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond Environmental Cleanup Program’s quarterly Restoration Advisory Board meeting in person at the Bensley Community Center in Chesterfield County, Virginia, July 12. These meetings were held virtually since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

April Employee of the Month Award recipients achieve excellence in process improvement

Hiccups in distribution and material orders are no match for Defense Logistics Agency Aviation’s April Employee of the Month Award recipients. With their out-of-the-box strategies and dogged determination, Timothy Beveridge and Leslie Stanley are standout contributors to their respective lines of business. Beveridge was selected in the general schedule (GS) 10-13 category and Stanley was selected in the GS 1-9 category.

Demolition continues, makes way for Phase 2 of Aviation Operations Center

Demolition of Building 33 on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, continues as part of Phase 2 for the Defense Logistics Aviation Operations Center. Destruction began earlier this year with most of it happening over the past month.
