Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees got into the season of giving by participating in several Combined Federal Campaign events the week of Nov. 14-18.

In honor of National America Recycles Day, Subsistence held a CFC Recycle Sculpture Contest Nov. 15. Employees voted by placing a donation in a ballot box next to their favorite sculpture.

Khoung Nguyen, a contract specialist in Subsistence, won first place for her apple sculpture. Employees donated $53.35 through the contest.

The fifth annual Chili Cook-Off also took place Nov. 15.  Thirteen contestants submitted chilies that ranged from mild to spicy hot, veggie to meat lovers, jambalaya style and everything in between.

The judges were John Sheehan, director of customer operations in Subsistence, Richard Ellis, the deputy commander of DLA Troop Support, and Air Force Col. Glenn Chadwick, Industrial Hardware director.

Employees raised raised $653 for the CFC through the Chili Cook-Off.

The Medical supply chain hosted a doughnut fundraiser Nov. 17 and employees bought 35 dozen.

Crystal Robinson, a CFC volunteer for the Medical supply chain, said that because the event was so successful, they plan on having another doughnut fundraiser in early December.

Other CFC fundraising activities throughout Troop Support include a weekly book sale and coffee cart on Wednesdays in Subsistence. The Command Support Office also began their "Show Some Love, Give Some Change" fundraiser, by collecting loose change for donations.

Employees raised $882.35 in donations for CFC through the week of fundraising events. They have raised more than $20,537.00 in support of the CFC so far this year.

All manual/pledge card donations must be processed in the civilian payroll system by Dec. 16. MyPay will stop allowing automated transactions Dec. 15.
