WARREN, Mich. –
About 35 associates from DLA Land Warren joined forces with the Small Business Office and Competition Management Office to help the local community. They worked as a team to pack food boxes at the local Gleaners Food Bank. The team was able to pack more than 5,000 pounds of food and vegetables, which in turn will help more than 4,000 families in need. The effort also served as a teambuilding event, as associates strategized how best to efficiently pack the food items. Gleaners Food Bank said they appreciated the team’s donation efforts and invited them back for future events.
A team of employees from DLA Land Warren participated in a volunteer event to help the local Salvation Army. The DLA team helped stock and arrange toys for children. The team then helped parents shop for available age-appropriate toys. The Salvation Army said they were pleased by DLA Land Warren’s efforts.
