DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan

DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan commander, Navy Cmdr. AJ Rivera recently promoted Yokosuka’s newest Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer, Logistics Specialist Senior Chief Conrado Macasa on June 8.

The command recognized this significant achievement in a pinning ceremony that was attended by Macasa’s family, Yokosuka teammates and various civilian and military guests from Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka.  Team mates extended him and his family heartfelt congratulations while recognizing his continued dedication and devotion to military service. His wife, Maribel, and his daughter, Fiona, pinned anchors onto the new Senior Chief.

Macasa was selected as Chief Petty Officer in 2009 and assigned as Leading Chief Petty Officer in Air Test and Evaluation NINE (VX-9) at Naval Aviation Weapon Station China Lake, California.   There he led 53 Sailors, Marine Corps and civilian personnel in the management of Material Control, Support Equipment, Metrology Calibration, Tool Control and Hazardous Material programs.

From June 2013 to January 2017, he was assigned as Supply Department LCPO onboard USS DEWEY (DDG-105) in San Diego, CA where he led 42 personnel in daily operation of Stock Control, Food and Retail services to 325 crewmembers.  During his leadership, DEWEY achieved a 100 percent Supply Net Effectiveness placing the command on top of the list of ships across Naval Surface Force Pacific (CNSP).  He also led the Stock Control division to winning the highly competitive CNSP Fiscal Year 2016 Logistics Readiness Excellence Award for the medium afloat category surpassing all cruisers and destroyers in the fleet.

From March 2017 to March 2018, he was assigned to Coastal Riverine Group TWO (CRG-2) Detachment Bahrain where he earned his Expeditionary Warfare Specialists qualification.

Since April 2018, he has been serving at DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan as the Warehousing Branch Leading Chief Petty Officer.  Macasa will assume the role of Senior Enlisted Advisor upon his return from the Navy’s Command Career Counseling School in August 2018.

Macasa said his goal is to mentor and positively influence as many Sailors as he can. “I love seeing our personnel advance in rank and seeing the growth and development of our future Sailors.”
