DLA Pacific moves bulk of Korea staff to expanded site at Camp Humphreys

By DLA Pacific Command

The Defense Logistics Agency Pacific Command has taken a major step in Korea by officially moving and consolidating its main body of personnel on the peninsula to an expanded Camp Humphreys location.

The official opening of the facility took place in June and over the last two months, personnel from across the spectrum of DLA began the move south from Seoul and north from Daegu and other locations across the peninsula.

Thirty-one DLA employees from across six Korea locations consolidated at the new state-of-the-art facility. In all, the new building has 28,000 total net assignable square feet with 16 enclosed offices and open space for 35 cubicles.

The new facility is home to the DLA Pacific Korea Operations Center, hosting numerous technological advances ensuring continued support to the warfighters throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of operations, as well as providing reachback capability to the DLA Pacific and DLA HQ Joint Logistics Operation Centers.

DLA’s goal in moving to the new site was to ensure greater emphasis, coordination, and overall support to the warfighter. “The consolidated moved into Camp Humphreys creates extreme synergy across the MSCs and DLA J/D codes,” said Army Col. Brent Coryel, deputy commander of DLA Pacific. “The colocated nature of the facility creates greater synchronicity among the DLA team, not only in the Korea peninsula, but across the Pacific AOR.

“We are one DLA and our goal is to support the warfighter,” he added. “This moves created a stronger unity with the partnering military organizations that are also housed in the new facility to include logistics partners from the 403rd Army Field Support Brigade, 411th Contracting Support Brigade, AAFES and DECA. This has been a long time in the waiting and is a great day for the DLA Pacific Korea team.”
