By DLA Public Affairs

Attendees of the 2019 Association of the United States Army’s LANPAC Symposium and Exposition, held in Honolulu May 21-23, learned about operational contracting support from the Defense Logistics Agency. LANPAC is an international event highlighting the role of land forces throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

Matthew Beebe, director DLA Acquisition, shared details about the role OCS plays in support of regional combatant commanders while serving on a panel on the topic of global logistics. Operational contracting support is the process of planning for and obtaining supplies, services and construction material during an operation or contingency. The panel was chaired by Army Lt. Gen. Aundre Piggee, deputy chief of staff for Army logistics.

Other symposium topics included strengthening and building alliances and partnerships, and innovation and agility across the Indo-Pacific region.
