DLA Distribution employees presented commander’s coins

DLA Distribution Commanding Officer Navy Rear Adm. Kevin M. Jones’ presented coins to several DLA Distribution headquarters employees at a recent recognition event. Yuna Kocharova was recognized for handling all things Defense Travel System, government travel card, Eagle Cash, government purchase card and assisting command with human resource actions. With DTS, there are many mandatory audit requirements and reports with hard deadlines. Kocharova has made herself available to straighten out travel issues around the clock.

Jenny Cook also received a coin and serves as the distribution force provider ensuring all JLOC and J3 requirements are met, and that all well-trained individuals are equipped to accomplish all missions. 

Maj. Dustin Gilfoil arrived in May as part of Operation Warfighter, Gilfoil received a coin for the immediate contributions he made to Distribution’s strategic mission. He was assigned to work the memorandum of agreement between DLA Distribution and U.S. Army Africa for operations in Djibouti and accomplished this goal despite many challenges. 

Elaine Deleon was recognized for always responding to requests for information regarding policy. Deleon provides concise and understandable responses to inquiries from customers while taking on difficult and complex projects without hesitation.

Mr. Ronald Bell, DLA Distribution’s Ombudsman to industry, received a coin for being vital to the success of DLA Distribution’s Industry Engagement Plan, including the 2nd Industry Day event held on June 11-12. As the coordinator, he was responsible for all of the logistics, support personnel, agenda, briefers, invitations, etc. in support of the two-day event.

Rex Temple received a coin for contributing immensely to the Global Weight and Cube program. His efforts are greatly reducing the backlog of data. His efforts exemplify both initiative and a focus on process improvements.
