By Leon Moore DLA Aviation Public Affairs

Navy RDML Kenneth Epps, Deputy Chief of Staff for Fleet Ordnance and Supply/Fleet Supply Officer, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia, traveled to Defense Logistics Agency Aviation on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, Sept. 25, to meet with DLA Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford, as well as other senior leaders.

Epps also met with military and civilian members of the DLA Aviation’s Customer Operations Directorate’s Navy Customer Facing Division. During the engagement, he received briefings on DLA Aviation’s strategic overview, strategic engagements with the Navy and functions of weapon system program managers and customer account specialists.

A highlight of the Admiral’s visit came when he got an update on OPERATION RHINO CHARGE, an initiative set forth by the Navy’s top aviator, Vice Adm. DeWolfe Miller, III, Commander, Naval Air Forces/Commander, Naval Air Force, US Pacific, Naval Air Station North Island, California, to have 341 mission capable F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet fighter jets by Oct. 1, 2019. According to Navy Capt. Kenneth Ryker, chief, Navy Customer Facing Division, the Navy exceeded that goal on Sept. 24.
