How long have you worked for the federal government including military service?
I have worked for the federal government for 10 years. I started as a contractor for DLA Document Services and then progressed to DLA Logistics Information Services.

How long have you worked for DLA Logistics Information Services? I have worked for DLIS for almost 8 years. I came in with the Student Career Experience Program and this gave me the opportunity, to start my career in Air Force Cataloging.

What is your favorite thing about your line of work? My favorite thing about my line of work is that I am making a difference, in supporting our customers and the warfighter, it gives me gratification every day.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you? There are two ways to react to every situation. You can react in the moment or take some time and respond with self-control.

What do you think about when you hear “Women’s History Month?” I think about the women who made a difference for us, who were determined until they made a change. We can do our best to be comparable to them.

Who are some women you admire?

  • Mother Teresa - her legacy of the generous love and empathy that she displayed for everyone, especially the poor and the sick.
  • Rosa Parks - she stood up for equal rights and started the civil rights movement, to prove everyone is equal.

What is your best memory of working here? My best memory was being accepted into the Student Career Experience Program.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? I would love for God to provide me the gift of healing.

What is your favorite quote? “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give” by Winston Churchill.
