Buswell has been with the agency for the past five years and is currently stationed in California, where he serves as DLA Disposition Services Barstow’s site lead. He previously worked at Camp Pendleton as a material examiner and identifier.

“I really enjoy supporting the warfighter,” Buswell said. “I get the opportunity to mentor team members, interact with leadership at all levels, and I get to go out to train and see our customers. I consider it one of the most rewarding things I can do in continuing my service.”

Buswell’s supervisor, Christopher Camacho, cited his professional attitude and extraordinary customer service ability as reasons he deserved recognition.

“He has gone above and beyond when assisting customers with turn ins and excelled in developing an effective cost savings plan to dispose of body armor, components, and [demilitarization]-required textiles,” Camacho wrote.

Buswell was also cited for decreasing aged property, exceeding deadlines, and filling in for the area manager when needed.

“Mr. Buswell’s hard work and dedication is the driving force behind the success of DLA Disposition Services Barstow,” Camacho wrote.

For his part, Buswell said his site is on the right path and its personnel are learning and growing as a team.

“I work with some amazing and professional people,” Buswell said. “I think the organization is great and I am looking forward to being a team member until it is time for me to retire for good.”
