Describe your job in a sentence or two.
As a Property Disposal Specialist with environmental duties, I am responsible for carrying out all the processes of property disposal such as reutilization, transfer, donation and sales of excess DOD property as well as environmental duties.

How long have you worked for the federal government including military service? I have worked as a civilian federal employee for 10 years.

How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services? I have worked for Disposition Services since November 2020.

What is your favorite thing about your line of work? I love forging relationships with coworkers and customers as well as serving the warfighter.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you? A previous supervisor once told me to not be afraid to fail because in that failure is where growth happens.

What do you think about when you hear “Women’s History Month?” Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society.

What are some women you admire? There are many women that I admire throughout history including Anne Frank, Emily Dickinson, Princess Diana, Harriet Tubman and Amelia Earhart; but most of all I admire my mom.

Why is it important to you that we celebrate Women’s History Month? I believe it is important to celebrate positive women role models from all backgrounds throughout history and today because for much of history the story of women has been largely one of silence, exclusion, absence and bias.

What is your favorite book? Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

What was your first job? My first job was a grocery bagger at my local grocery store.

What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be an archeologist that studied the Great Pyramids of Egypt. I love Egyptian history.

What is your favorite quote? “Success without fulfillment is failure” by Tony Robbins.

What are your hobbies? I love traveling, practicing yoga and outdoor activities.
