NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
Army Brig. Gen. Timothy P. White, director of U.S. Forces Korea J4 and Army Brig. Gen. Steven L. Allen, commander of 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Korea for a tour of the new warehouse Sept. 8.
The new facility is a state-of-the-art 250,000-square-foot warehouse with 20,000-square-feet of bulk and storage space. The new, modern warehouse is critical for DLA Distribution to continue to fulfill mission requirements to provide faster, more efficient and more economical service in support of U.S. armed forces operations in the Korean peninsula.
This tour was White’s first tour of Area IV in his capacity as the director of U.S. Forces Korea J4 and it was Allen’s first visit to DLA Distribution Korea’s Camp Carroll warehouse. He visited DLA Distribution Busan Korea’s facility in May.
Army Lt. Col. Corinne McClellan, commander of DLA Distribution Korea and Macy Ooka, deputy commander, welcomed White and Allen to the new facility.
McClellan and Ooka walked White and Allen throughout DLA Distribution Korea’s future capabilities, as well as the agency’s modernization initiatives at the Hazardous Material facility, Theater Consolidated Shipping Point, Receiving, Storage and Administrative branches. McClellan and Ooka also highlighted the future capabilities of the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System and the Secret Internet Protocol Router suites.
The tour ended on the mezzanine floor, which boasts a tree and flower garden with an excellent view of the installation and city of Chilgok-gun, South Korea. White and Allen were also provided with DLA Distribution Korea photo books.
