Tell us about yourself.

34 years old. Proudly working for DLA for 6 years. Hobbies include riding motorcycles, fishing, and hunting. Married with a son.

What do you do?

Currently learning all aspects of the job. I was a recent hire from DLA Distribution. I am still learning all the aspects of my new position to be a valuable asset to the DLA Disposition Services team.

How long have you worked for the federal government, including military service?

15 years.

How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services?

One month. Already feeling like part of the team.

Anything satisfying about the job? 

The most personal satisfaction I have is when I have completed a day of work and I can see the floor clear from material. This gives me a great sense of accomplishment.

Advice you’ve received worth sharing?

Always do your best, no half-stepping. The only person that you are cheating is yourself.

What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role?

On-the-job training. Being able to perform processes in real time while being coached how to perform the processes unique to DLA Disposition Services.

What would you say has been your major contributions to your organization this year in your job? Joining the team and being able to contribute experience from DLA Distribution, I have been able to make a huge impact to the team.

Anything you’d say directly to warfighters?

Thank you for everything you do, I’ve got your 6.

Where do you see yourself five years from now? 

I see myself being a future supervisor. I would like to pass the knowledge and wisdom that my current supervisor has given to me.

What was your first job?

Working at the [military] Child Development Center as a childcare giver.

Who’s your biggest influence?

My son. I want to make sure he has a good role model to look up to.

Passions outside work?

Riding my motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and working on cars and motorcycles.

What is your favorite quote?

“Life’s a gamble, roll the dice.”

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to join the military because of my dad.

If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? 

President of the United States.
