FORT BELVOIR, Va. –
The Defense Logistics Agency’s 2021 Combined Federal Campaign Awards Ceremony recognized organizations and employees for their contributions and achievements during the campaign year in the McNamara Headquarters Auditorium March 30.
DLA Headquarters employees donated $275,865 toward the $300,000 goal and pledged 236 volunteer hours to various charities.
Navy Rear Adm. Grafton Chase, director of the DLA Joint Reserve Force and DLA CFC vice chair, said he’s proud of the 118 coordinators and keyworkers who made the campaign a success and of employees who gave money and time.
“The success of the 2021 campaign is a testament of the kindness and generosity of the DLA people,” he said. “It is only natural that those who support the warfighters also support those less fortunate than themselves in their own communities.
Charity events included DLA’s first Pledge-a-thon, a do-60-give-60 challenge that encouraged employees to pledge 60 hours of volunteer work or donate $60, a name-that-tune game and scavenger hunt.
“These were phenomenal accomplishments and the director and I thank you,” Chase said. “The keyworkers and coordinators showed the power of tapping into the team.”
Awards from the National Capital Area campaign were:
- DLA Energy raised $75,091, earning the Chairperson’s Award for per capita giving over $175
- Director’s staff collectively raised $52,779, earning the Honor Award for per capita giving over $125
- DLA Human Resources raised $12,556, earning the Merit Award for per capita giving over $100
- DLA Logistics Operations raised $44,068, earning the Merit Award for per capita giving over $100
- DLA Acquisition raised $21,680, earning an Honor Award for per capita giving over $125
- DLA Finance raised $26,276, earning a Merit Award from per capita giving over $100
- DLA Joint Reserve Force raised $2,450, earning the President’s Award for per capita giving over $225
DLA Energy, DLA Information Operations and all directorates also received an Impact Award for campaign success and excellence.
DLA-level awards included recognition of Jada Fairrow from DLA Joint Reserve Force for serving as campaign manager, and the Best Campaign Awareness Award went to DLA Information Operations. Special Service awards for outstanding assistance were presented to:
- DLA Public Affairs
- DLA Protocol
- DLA Multimedia and Graphics
- Video Operations Center
The ceremony concluded with Chase passing DLA’s CFC campaign book containing content such as standard operating procedures and points of contact to DLA Human Resources Director Sharyn Saunders. Her staff will conduct the 2022 campaign.
