I’ve been married to my wife Christine for 52 years. We have two daughters and five grandchildren. Originally from Calhoun, Georgia I moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1985 on my last assignment and retired from the Army in 1990.

What is your current job?

Working with DEMIL property, warehousing, storage, shipping, and inventories of selected outbound property along with other warehousing duties.

How long have you worked for the federal government?

I served 24 years in the U.S. Army and 31 years with DLA for a total of 55 years federal time.

Favorite memories with DLA?

There are many, but my favorite memories were of sales day when we had public auctions and the reaction bidders.

What aspects of your job give you the most satisfaction?

Working around and with all the young service personnel.

What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role?

Supply and maintenance assignments while in the military, with assignments at various depot disposal actives (PDOS) working as parts, and components identifier and classifier, equipment inspector and classifier in support of storage operations.

What would you say has been your major contributions to your organization this year in your job?

I help make sure property keeps moving, materiel release orders are pulled, and that property is shipped in a timely manner.

If you could speak directly to the warfighters you support, what would you tell them? 

Keep the faith and stand tall. You are the backbone of our nation.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?  

Retired

What is your best memory here DLA?

One of my first jobs here at DLA Ft. Bragg. Working with tri-wall boxes of rotary telephones turned-in to receiving that was to be destroyed and precious metals recovered. Also, remembering the military telephone network in Germany back in the 70’s. I really enjoyed that.
