Leadership changes hands at DLA Distribution Pearl Harbor

Command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, changed hands as Cmdr. Sean R. Moody took the helm June17.

Moody is a native of Lake Arrowhead, California. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics for Business Management from Occidental College in 2003 and received his commission through Naval Officer Candidate School in 2004. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Afloat, he served as supply officer onboard MCM Crew Swerve, which during his tour rotated between USS Dextrous and USS Defender. He also served as general stores officer and aviation stores officer onboard USS Makin Island during the maiden deployment of the ship.

Ashore, he served on the commandant’s staff of the U.S. Naval Academy; the joint logistics staff of Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa; the afloat policy staff of Commander, Naval Air Forces, Pacific; as aide to the Commander of Naval Supply Systems Command and 47th Chief of Supply Corps; as secretary of the Navy Tours with Industry Fellow at Apple, Inc; as support equipment director on the Aviation Operations Staff of NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support, Philadelphia; and as deputy chief of logistics plans at Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Moody is a qualified naval aviation supply officer, surface warfare supply corps officer and acquisition professional. He is entitled to wear the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medals and various other personal, unit and service awards.
