EWG forum held in person for the first time in more than two years

By Leon Moore, Public Affairs Specialist DLA Aviation Public Affairs Office

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Employee Working Group held its first in-person forum in more than two years Dec. 13 in the Frank B. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia. Employees not able to attend in person were able to do so virtually.

The meeting kicked off with DLA Aviation’s Deputy Chief of Staff Nancy Calvao being introduced to the workforce. She’s held this job title about a year, and this was her first chance addressing the workforce.

Following Calvao, DLA Installation Management Richmond Site Director David Gibson gave a substantial presentation detailing information on construction projects his office is currently overseeing on DSCR including an update on the progress of construction of Phase 2 of the DLA Aviation Operations Center (Bldg. 47), and completion of renovations to the Bellwood Manor, the East Gate and multiple parking lots on center.

Gibson also gave updates on services offered by the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Office, as well as information on the Bellwood Elk and the shuttle service.

An employee of the month award ceremony followed Gibson. It recognized every non-supervisory civilian employee winner in category 1 (GS 1-9) and category 2 (GS 10-13) from Aug. 2021 up to Oct. 2022.

The forum wrapped up with DLA Aviation Deputy Commander Charlie Lilli taking questions from those physically in Lotts, as well as those who submitted questions to the EWG beforehand.
