Korea’s Audit Readiness Team named Mission Impact Team of the Quarter

By Brianne M. Bender DLA Distribution Public Affairs

DLA Distribution Korea’s Audit Readiness Team has been awarded the Mission Impact Team of the Quarter award for the first quarter of fiscal year 2016.

The 12 person team Audit Readiness Team worked to ensure DLA Distribution Korea was prepared for the mock audit conducted by Distributions Current Operations office in December. The team successfully completed 71 evaluations at a nearly 99 percent pass rate.

With the overall goal of ensuring DLA Distribution Korea’s day to day operations are audit ready at all times, the team established programs to ensure all employees were trained to standard and diligently following all procedures established by headquarters.

By developing a detailed plan in preparation for the mock audit, the Audit Readiness Team ensured all pertinent information was communicated to leaders and employees operating on the floor. They ensured all team members knew what to do while the auditors were conducting the audits, and if issues arose that could improve the process, they made on the spot corrections.

“They captured the changes so the distribution facility will be even better prepared for the official audit later this year,” explained DLA Distribution Korea deputy commander, Dr. David Harris.

Even though results of the audit were impressive, the team is continuing to work to be more successful during the official audit. They are working to ensure any changes are incorporated into DLA Distribution Korea’s daily routine.

“Based on our Audit Readiness Team’s outstanding efforts, we here at DLA Distribution Korea are confident we will receive a positive assertion,” said Harris. “The Audit Readiness Team will ensure the audit become the new standard.”

The Audit Readiness Team includes Hyon Yong O, Yong A Cho, Hong Taek Sim, Donald Abrams, Charley Mosley, Chun U Kim, Sun Chol Hong, Young Kuk Kim, Stephen Dia, Ki Kyun Pak, Chong Un Kim and Tae Hyun Kim.
