Elyse Atoe, Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking employee at DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, has been named DLA Distribution’s Employee of the Quarter for first quarter, fiscal year 2016, for her superior performance and teamwork.

According to supervisor Troy Barker, Atoe distinguished herself through her devotion to the distribution center’s packing mission by exhibiting consistently high performance, setting the standard for PPP&M through her high level of productivity and by providing training and guidance to her peers.

Last quarter, Atoe packed approximately 515 bulk assets valued at $15.7 million dollars, ensuring audit readiness standards were followed in accordance with the Job Breakdown Sheet.  She also ensured material matched documentation and performed checks at an accuracy rate of 100 percent.

Additionally, she developed a work process to ensure all inducted assets were pre-screened for available packing containers upon receipt.  Coordinating with the distribution center’s Box Shop to ensure a 60-day supply of all wood crates were available, this initiative saved man-hours, increased production, and ultimately decreased work in process in the bulk crate packing area.

Keeping the work environment safe, Atoe conducts daily hoist, crane and sling inspections, and records results appropriately.  She also ensures load tests are within specified time frames and promptly reports deficiencies.

“Ms. Atoe is an energetic, focused, and attentive packer who utilizes her knowledge and skills to ensure mission success,” said Barker.
