Susquehanna Williams named Employee of the Week

Brian Williams, material examiner identifier supervisor at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week, for the week of April 18 to 22, 2016.

Williams, who has been a DLA Distribution employee since 2007, supervises, trains and monitors the progress and development of 16 distribution process workers, 29 materials examiners and identifiers and two lead supply technicians in the Department of Defense’s largest distribution center.

On a daily basis, Williams conducts material counts and completes the end of shift situation report, allowing management to make informed decisions concerning the workload and the distribution centers ability to meet mission requirements.

Additionally, he supervised the off-loading, tallying and inspection of over 2,000 pieces of inbound freight with zero safety violations. By including leadership, Williams was the driving force to Mission Receiving achieving an overall 96 percent on-time standards metrics across the board, exceeding the goal by six percent. Committed to audit readiness, he evaluated and performed 15 question and answer inspections resulting in a .36 percent denial rate.
