Hildrich to depart Sigonella for new Distribution mission

After serving as DLA Distribution Sigonella, Italy’s deputy commander for more than two years, Fred Hildrich will be departing for a new mission.

Hildrich will be relocating to South Carolina, where he will oversee quality assurance in the receipt, warehousing, and inventory of items supporting the mission at the Parris Island Recruit Training Center.

He initially joined the Sigonella team in November 2013.  In March 4, 2015, he assumed responsibility of the distribution center serving as director, a position he held until August 2015.

A native of southeast Mo., Hildrich enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1986 and served 22 years in the field of supply. Hildrich participated in numerous operational tours with the Combat Service Support Detachment 36, 1st Light Armored Infantry Battalion, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, Marine Air Support Squadron 2, and Marine Wing Support Group 17. He also deployed in support of combat operations during Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. In addition, Hildrich served as a support battalion S4 at Paris Island, S.C., and worked as a canvassing recruiter in San Antonio, Texas.

After retiring from the Marine Corps in September 2008, he went to work for DLA Distribution Expeditionary as an operations officer in Okinawa, Japan, during the establishment of DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan at Okinawa. He continued assignments as operations officer with DLA Distribution Expeditionary in Beaumont, Texas, during Hurricane Ike relief efforts, Australia during Talisman Saber 2009, and Kandahar, Afghanistan, during the initial establishment of DLA Distribution Kandahar. In 2010, he participated in the World Food Program Pandemic exercise in Mombasa, Kenya, and the following year, became the site manager at DLA Distribution Deh Dadi-II, Afghanistan. In 2012, he participated in a humanitarian assistance and disaster relief exercise, Balikatan 12, Puerta Princessa, Philippines, as the DLA Distribution Expeditionary officer in charge.

His civilian awards include the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, Superior Civilian Service Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and NATO Medal.

Hildrich’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Transportation and Logistics Management from American Military University.
