NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania –
Denny McGuire, a materials examiner and identifier at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week for the week of May 30 to June 3.
Since April 2016, McGuire has been systematically researching Susquehanna’s aging supply reports in an effort to support continuous process improvement.
McGuire recognized the main reason for aging supply reports was because the owners were unable to see the materials in their systems, therefore unable to provide disposition instructions. He then took it upon himself to resend the information directly to the contact personnel.
The result of McGuire’s efforts has been a reduction in the aging supply reports from 50.5 percent to 44.3 percent in two months’ time.
“We were receiving usable disposition instructions on these assets within an average of three to five business days, and often within the same day as a result of Mr. McGuire’s actions,” explained DLA Distribution Susquehanna commander, Army Col. Corey New.
