DLA Distribution Corpus Christi celebrates employees at the ballfield

By DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas DLA Distribution Public Affairs

DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, had its 4th Annual DLA Distribution night with the Corpus Christi Hooks- the AA affiliate of the Houston Astros- as they faced off with the Frisco Roughriders July 14th at Whataburger Field.

It was an evening of great weather, lots of cheering and happy baseball fans.  Kaylee Martinez, daughter of DLA Distribution Corpus Christi employee Gina Martinez, sang the Star Spangled Banner to the cheering of the crowd.  DLA Distribution Corpus Christi commander Army Lt. Col. Brian Richie was on the big screen during a salute to the veterans in the 4th inning.

The Corpus Christi Hooks and Frisco Roughriders combined for four home runs, which ignited fireworks to the delight of the crowd.

The event was voluntarily coordinated by DLA Distribution employees Arturo Flores and Troy Barker.  Hooks management reserved seating so all employees were together on the 3rd baseline adjacent to the team tunnel, very close in proximity to the baseball players.

Robert Rosarius, the distribution center’s deputy commander, was in attendance and said “I look forward to this event every year.  During the game, as I [looked] around, I [saw] the camaraderie of our workforce binding and building.  There are always lots of smiles.  Work hard and play hard; this is an event the employees look forward to each season.”
