DLA acquisition supports Operation Warp Speed COVID-19 vaccine distribution

In order to facilitate DLA’s role in the Operation Warp Speed COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan, the first 30,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine destined for OCONUS and deployed Navy Fleet requirements were ordered on Dec. 11 by the organization’s pharmaceutical support arm in anticipation of an Emergency Use Authorization from the Food and Drug Administration.

For more than 50 years, the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support has been providing traditional Thanksgiving food to field kitchens, dining facilities and galleys in the United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and other locations where service members are deployed. While the logistics of getting the ingredients to the table were more complicated this year, warfighters will still have a traditional Thanksgiving meal this week.

Robert Hutkowski of Construction and Equipment retired after 36 years of federal service, and Pauline Clark-Cox of the Equal Employment Opportunity Office retired after 35 years of service.
