Santa brought cheer and joy to McNamara Headquarters Complex Dec. 7 during the annual tree lighting and holiday social.
HQC Morale, Welfare and Recreation organized the event for employees of the Defense Logistics Agency and the other HQC tenant agencies, and entertainment was provided by the Metropolitan School of the Arts Academy and HQC Child Development Center’s pre-kindergarten class. Both groups sang a selection of holiday songs.
DLA Chief of Staff Renee Roman reminded the audience that Christmas is a time of celebration and giving.
“It’s an opportunity to share with others things they wouldn’t normally expect, whether it’s a smile, a present or just spending time with them,” she said.
Programs such as Toys for Tots and the Combined Federal Campaign are a couple of ways employees can give. The deadline to contribute to CFC has been extended to Dec. 31, she said. And boxes are placed at building entrances for Toys for Tots gifts.
Winners of this year’s door decorating contest, with the theme “Enjoying the Holly Days” were also announced:
