More than 100 McNamara Headquarters Complex employees, guests and corporate sponsors took advantage of the sunny but breezy weather May 3, to participate in the HQC’s annual golf tournament at Woodlawn Golf Course, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Before the golfers hit the links, John Holwick, HQC site director, briefed the golfers and presented the rules.

Following the tournament, golfers were treated to a barbecue buffet lunch and awards presentation for the top three finishing teams.

The first place team, with a score of 55, included: Dave Peterson, direct delivery fuels director, DLA Energy;  Bruce Blank, supervisory procurement analyst, DLA Energy
Cliff Sands, supervisory general engineer, DLA Installation Support; and Justin Wingo, contract specialist, DLA Energy.

“I have played in multiple DLA scrambles,” Blank said. “It’s always an enjoyable and well-run event.”

Blank said this was the second year the foursome played together.

“We took third place last year,” he said. “This year, we all played well and were able to put together a great round despite the difficult winds.”

Teams placing second and third scored 59 and 61, respectively.
