DLA Troop Support attorneys engage area law schools

By Agneta Murnan DLA Troop Support Public Affairs

Members of the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support legal counsel team in Philadelphia discussed attorney and internship opportunities with career counselors from several area law schools June 5.

DLA Troop Support attorneys provided an overview of the organization’s global warfighter support mission, legal areas of practice and attorney benefits, such as pay, loan-repayment programs, training opportunities and work-life balance, to the counselors from Villanova, Drexel, Temple, Widener and Rutgers universities.

The group of eight attorneys, who advise law school students, also visited two of DLA’s unique work areas: the flag room, where employees hand-stitch flags for the White House and military units; and the Product Testing Center shade room, where camouflage uniforms are evaluated.

DLA is the Department of Defense's largest logistics combat support agency, providing worldwide logistics support to the military services as well as several civilian agencies and foreign countries.

DLA Troop Support provides effective and efficient support to warfighters and other customers with subsistence, clothing and textiles, construction and engineer equipment, medical supplies and hardware solutions to help them achieve their global missions.
