By DLA Distribution Public Affairs DLA Distribution Public Affairs

In front of family and friends, DLA Distribution’s Army Lt. Col. Roger Keen was promoted to the rank of Colonel during a ceremony June 5.

The ceremony was officiated by DLA Distribution commanding general Army Brig. Gen. John Laskodi, who congratulated the Distribution Future Plans joint logistics plans and contingency officer on his career accomplishments and noted the significance of the day, both for Keen as well as the Army.  “While this is a special day for Roger and his family, it’s an even better day for the United States military as we recognize the great leadership potential of this gifted officer and charge him with greater responsibilities on behalf of the Nation.”

Following a reading of the official order announcing Keen’s promotion, he was pinned to the rank of colonel with his wife, Young and daughter Erin by his side.

Keen followed his pinning by reciting the oath of office and thanking those that have aided him in his career, especially his family.

Originally from New Jersey, Keen enlisted in the Army in 1989 as a medical supply specialist. He was awarded a Green to Gold scholarship in 1992 and was commissioned in 1995 a quartermaster officer after graduating from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology.  In 2006 Keen earned a Master of Science Degree in Security Management from Bellevue University.  His military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains’ Career Course (CLC3), Combined Arms Services and Staff School, and the Command and General Staff College.
