Army Lt. Col. Anthony Stoeger has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his achievements while serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas.

Upon taking command, Stoeger was challenged immediately by sequestrations and continuing resolutions. He motivated his organization to meet all DLA Distribution key performance indicators for receipts, stores and issues over the entire duration of his command.

Under Stoeger‘s leadership, the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Team processed more than 2,200 priority and routine material release orders to Red River Army Depot’s reset line and various other work customers; they accurately performed 523 stores in a warehouse and re-warehoused 923 lines, contributing to a 99.5 percent location accuracy rate.

The Logistics Modernization Program processed over 232,000 lines and the mission performance indicator exceeded in issue, inventory-accuracy and denial rate despite the workforce being short staffed.

Stoeger and his team managed over 361 internal order numbers, bringing over $44.3 million in revenue generated for distribution. Over 150 projects consisted of managing the day-to-day labor requirements, order parts, tracing and processing kitting requests and shipping material to support multiple military projects.

In his two years as commander at DLA Distribution Red River, Stoeger has earned a reputation for his calm leadership, stoic determination and unfailingly courteous professionalism.

“In every assignment and task, his attention to detail and tireless work ethic has ensure the best possible product or outcome would be produced,” said DLA Distribution commanding general Army Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi. “The Defense Logistics Agency will continue to reap the benefits of his many contributions for years to come.”
