Associates, retirees swing into fun at the 2018 Commander’s Cup

Defense Supply Center Columbus and Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. John Palmer hosted the 21st Annual Commander’s Cup at the Eagle Eye Golf Course Sept. 7.

The event builds comradery across various directorates and tenants on the installation.

Historically, this golf outing has the highest participation out of the installation golf events throughout the year, said PGA Golf Pro and Eagle Eye Golf Course Manager Jeff Bills.

This year the Cup made one major change and opened the event to retirees.

The Commander’s Cup champion was team DS-FCQ swinging in with a score of 57, just 2 strokes shy of the events historic best score.

Team DS-FCQ was made up of members from the Defense Supply Center Columbus Morale, Welfare and Recreation office. Team members were MWR Chief Steve Coulson, MWR Business and Recreation Director Jose Nieto, Outdoor Recreation Manager Darren Wagner and Eagle Eye Golf Course Operations Assistant Bill Crawford.
