DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan holds retirement ceremony for MLC employees

On November 16, 2018, DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan held a retirement ceremony for four of six Master Labor Contract employees, honoring their significant contribution in an exceptional amount of time.  With 216 years of combined experience, Yokosuka will feel the loss of these employee’s work ethic and efforts. 

Kouji Fukumoto, administrative officer, worked for 38 years; Katsuya Sawada, administrative specialist, worked for 35 years; Yoshiaki Koiwai, automotive mechanic, worked for 42 years; Akihiko Monda, heavy vehicle driver, worked for 25 years; Hiroshi Tsukada, tractor-trailer driver, worked for 34 years; and Kazuo Noguchi, equipment specialist, worked for 42 years.

Their dedication and contribution to the success of the Command were appreciated and recognized as they received a farewell and appreciation letter and coin’s from DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, commander Navy, Cmdr. Allen Rivera. 

“Everyone was remarkable for finishing their career here in DDYJ without being involved in any accident. Their expertise and positive influence and example to all employees will be truly missed,” stated Rivera.
