Marine Capt. James Shipman, strategic and contingency planner in DLA Distribution’s Future Plans directorate received a commander’s coin during DLA Distribution commanding officer Navy Rear Adm. Kevin M. Jones’ employee recognition event Feb. 1.
Shipman has aggressively pursued the expansion of DLA Distribution operations in Iwakuni, Japan. Along with the normal plan of action and milestones, he facilitated several discussions between Scott Rosbaugh, Future Plans director, and the leadership in theater for both the U.S. Marine Corps and DLA.
Additionally, Shipman has seamlessly assumed leadership of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command team upon the deployment of the previous leader.
“Capt. Shipman is doing a great job for Future Plans and will continue to do so for many years to come,” said Rosbaugh.
