Bidetti awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal

Army Lt. Col. Daniel J. Bidetti, was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal June 18. Bidetti commanded Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas, from June 2017 through June 2019.

“As commander of DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Dan led a remarkable effort to improve our performance in support of our customers and DLA Distribution expectations,” said Navy Rear Adm. Kevin M. Jones, commander, DLA Distribution. “His team conducted routine self-analysis and shared knowledge across the workforce establishing well defined goals as we tracked our progress.”

According to his award citation, his emphasis on workforce development greatly enabled professional and organizational growth, creating a pathway to future success. Having received top tier climate survey results, he displayed excellence in every endeavor. 

Bidetti’s next assignment will take him to Fort Hood, Texas, where he will serve with the 1st Armored Division.

Bidetti was born in Bronxville, New York, and graduated from Norwich University with a Bachelor of Arts in mechanical engineering. Some of his previous assignments took him to the 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood; the 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vicenza, Italy; the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana; the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado. He also served in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq three times.

“I am honored by this award and more importantly by my time in command here at Corpus Christi,” said Bidetti. “My family and I look forward to our next assignment back with the 1st Cavalry Division but we will truly miss the people in this organization and those in the community here.”
