DLA Distribution employees presented commander’s coins

DLA Distribution Commanding Officer Navy Rear Adm. Kevin M. Jones’ presented coins to several DLA Distribution headquarters employees at a recent recognition event. DLA Distribution Acquisitions’ Jama Muschara received a commander’s coin for her work as the lead acquisition project analyst. Muschara went above and beyond in assisting DLA customers in developing, coordinating, implementing and maintaining high-interest acquisition packages to obtain immediate and long-term support for a multitude of projects.

DLA Distribution Future Operations’ Morris “Mo” Gadsden received a commander’s coin for serving as lead for Distribution’s technology-focused modernization efforts. He led a small team responsible for integrating Distribution mobile technologies such as tablets and mobile printers and was responsible for leading the team in Voice, Real Time Location System, and R&D pilots/roll outs.

DLA Distribution Future Plan’s Josh Bell received a commander’s coin for going to Korea on very short notice to support Korean Exercise 19-1, earning high accolades from both the local DLA Pacific commander, Navy Capt. Kristin Acquavella and DLA Distribution Korea Commander Army Lt. Col. James M. McGee.

Organizational Management’s John Destalo received a commander’s coin for being an invaluable part of the Distribution Culture journey. According to Polly Charbonneau, deputy director Organizational Management, John has been integral in researching, developing and deploying the Distribution Management System. For 14 years, he has worked with experts from Toyota and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the overall design and delivery of the Distribution Management System and its underlying doctrine.

Command Affairs employee Joe Nguyen received a commander’s coin for his integral role in the design and procurement of the newest DLA Distribution Command Recognition Coin. After providing design suggestions that were ultimately integrated into the final coin design, he then collaborated with DLA Distribution Acquisition Operations and the vendor to ensure a timely award and completion of the coin.

Bevin Schorkhuber, DLA Distribution Commanding Officer Navy Rear Adm. Kevin M. Jones’ executive assistant received a commander’s coin for serving as executive assistant to the entire command staff during a staff vacancy, meticulously ensuring command schedules were coordinated while handling all front office correspondence and processing travel justifications for the entire Distribution organization.
