Nominations for DLA Hall of Fame due May 10

By DLA Public Affairs

Current and former Defense Logistics Agency employees have until May 10 to submit nominations of former employees for the 2021 DLA Hall of Fame, tentatively scheduled to be presented Oct. 7. Former agency civilians of any grade or military members of any rank, living or deceased, can be nominated.

Nominees must have been separated from DLA for at least three years by the nomination deadline and have no reasonable prospects for future employment or assignment with the agency.

Submissions should include a nomination form (A Common Access Card is required for access), which provides general information on the nominee and the submitting employee; a narrative description of specific contributions that qualify the nominee for Hall of Fame recognition; supporting documents, such as published articles, manuals and reports; and a portrait-style official photograph of the individual.

Nominations must be endorsed by the major subordinate command commander or deputy, the DLA Headquarters activity director or deputy, the DLA general counsel or the DLA chief of staff for DLA Headquarters organizations. Submissions must also include a point of contact who coordinates nominations within the organization.

Nominations will be evaluated on the individual’s contributions to the agency. Those selected for induction, or the next of kin if the selectee is deceased, will be notified in writing.

Nominations should be sent to honoraryawardsub@dla.mil. For further questions, contact Joe Davenport at joseph.davenport@dla.mil or Laura Belk at laura.belk@dla.mil.
