NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. –
This Saturday marks the 20-year commemoration of the 11 September 2001 terror attacks and those Americans who lost their lives.
It is a day of remembrance, a time for each of us to give pause and honor the nearly 3,000 men, women, and children taken from their loved ones and teammates. It is also a day to pay tribute to the courage of those Americans who selflessly answered the call to defend our way of life and to faithfully honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in pursuit of those freedoms we loyally guard and which define us as a Nation.
Your steadfast dedication, resilience during periods of adversity, and commitment to your teammates and the Warfighter, honors the memory of those lives lost and strengthens our resolve. I encourage you to share your memories of the 9/11 not only to educate younger audiences of that day’s act of terror, but more importantly the steadfastness of our values, the common bond we share as a Nation, and the legacy of those brave men and women who risked their lives for our cherished liberties…we will never forget.
I would like to thank each of you for everything you do daily for DLA and our Warfighters. I am proud to be on your team!
