Tell us about yourself.

I’m Italian, from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. I’ve been married since 2014 and I’m a proud father of four children.

Describe your job.

As a material examiner and identifier, I oversee all turn-ins from Aviano Air Base and five surrounding bases. I’m also a forklift operator and I assist with the movement of oversize items and help with moving Reutilization, Transfer, Donation and Sales property.

How long have you worked for the federal government including military service?

I’ve been working for the federal government for almost 3 years, all with DLA Disposition Services.

What is your favorite memory with DLA?

 I recently applied for the vacant position of property disposal technician. Receiving the phone call of the selection is a highlight for me. Being selected is a great opportunity for growth in my career within DLA.

What aspect(s) of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction and why? 

Being able to interact with customers and inspecting/receiving their property. Every day is an exciting challenge because I get to gain knowledge of the different squadrons working here at Aviano and learn about their missions.

What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

Work hard and always provide help if needed within your team. It shows that you support your coworkers, and it helps build morale.

What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role?

I was able to attend the Property Accounting Basics course in Battle Creek, Michigan. Being able to get this training, I was able to understand the bigger scope of DLA Disposition Services and improve my technical skills working in the receiving section.

Tell us something that most people might not know about you.

In my spare time, I like to woodwork. I’m also a musical enthusiast, so I work on electric and bass guitars. I specialize in using rare or unique woods when making my instruments. “Sined” is the name of my brand of the guitars I’ve made, which is my name spelled backwards.

Who’s your biggest influence?

My grandfather Aldo. He taught me how to appreciate the little things in life. 

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Guitarist in a rock band.
