Can you tell us about yourself?
I am a Veteran of the USAF, married with two sons and a professional musician.
Describe your job in a sentence or two. What do you do specifically? Oversee and manage Hazardous Waste removal contracts as well as provide customer service for numerous Hazardous Waste generating sites.
How long have you worked for the federal government including military service? Officially 24, but actually, 27 years. The first few years were as a term employee and don’t count for retirement.
How long have you worked for DLA Disposition Services? 23 years.
What is your favorite memory with DLA Disposition Services? The old crew working together for the local sales auctions.
What aspects of your current job gives you the most personal satisfaction and why? Providing customer service to our Hazardous Waste generators.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you? Hard work pays off and treat others as you would want to be treated.
What kind(s) of training and education helps your work performance in your current role? Too many Hazardous waste trainings to list, they all assist in our job knowledge and performance
What would you say have been your major contributions to your organization this year? No matter what challenges we face, I provide the best customer service possible for our generators and warfighters.
Where do you see yourself five years from now? Hopefully retired or soon to be retired. Lol. Playing music full time again and working in the outdoor industry
Tell us something that most people might not know about you or your directorate. My career as a professional musician and that I have toured all over the world with some very famous people.
What is your best memory of working here? I loved having the sales auctions, meeting all the people, collecting all the money for the warfighter.
What was your first job? Retail sales for an outdoor sporting goods company
Who’s your biggest influence? My father.
Name your favorite/recent book(s) you have read. With two kids I have no time for books. Lol.
What are some of your passions outside of work? Music, the outdoors, sports, and my family.
What is your favorite quote? One of my favorite movie quotes “You are going to shoot your eye out kid”. I say this when my kids do something stupid.
What did you want to be when you grew up? A rich rock star.
Who is your hero? My father.
If you could choose to do anything for a day; what would it be? Play drums on tour with Prince.
What’s the most thrilling and or adventurous thing you have ever done? Perform a concert in front of 20,000 people and go scuba diving.
