The DLA Foundation awarded 17 scholarships of $1,500 each to students with close family connections to current or past civilian or military Defense Logistics Agency employees.
This year’s awardees are:

-- Libby Dowell, Lorton, Virginia.
-- Andrew Fedele, San Antonio, Texas.
-- Emily Gilhool, Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania.
-- Tianna Gregory, Chester, Virginia.
-- Tyler Howard, Battle Creek, Michigan.
-- Dayton Lee, Honolulu, Hawaii.
-- Elena McCoy, Woodbridge, Virginia.
-- Anna Ng, San Antonio, Texas.
-- Benjamin Noble, Burke, Virginia.
-- Fulton Nugent, Wake Forest, North Carolina.
-- Caroline Pavlak, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
-- Chelsea Polidoro, Havertown, Pennsylvania.
-- Stephen Robbins, Laurel Springs, New Jersey.
-- Abilene Schiefer, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Additionally, Samuel Dlugoss, Battle Creek, Michigan, was awarded the Major General Charles R. Henry Scholarship, worth $2,500.
“We’re thrilled that we could help these DLA-affiliated students with their future education efforts, and really pleased that we could award five more scholarships this year than last year,” said Mae DeVincentis, chairman of the foundation’s board of directors.
Merit and financial need were the main criteria upon which applications were judged. Children, stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces or nephews of current or former DLA military or civilian employee were eligible for the scholarships.
