NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania –
Stephen Bowers, materials examiner and identifier at DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., has been named Employee of the Week for the week of May 9 to 13.
Although only a temporarily promoted work lead, Bowers took responsibility for the organizing and executing of the FSG 80 screening by Stock Readiness, and served as team lead for the six other materials examiners and identifiers who assisted in the screening of the required national stock numbers.
Under his leadership, the MEIs checked over 300 lines of stock to determine if any had been extended using the previous DLA Troop Support directed visual inspection procedures. They completed the requirement two days ahead of the suspense date. Bowers verified the results and worked with his supervisor to effectively and succinctly report the results.
“Steve’s efforts ensured discrepant material was not issued,” explained Susquehanna commander Army Col. Corey New. “His initiative, professionalism and dedication embody our value in supporting the warfighter.”
