For more than 60 years, the federal community has been changing the world together through the CFC. Thank you for making a difference by supporting this year’s campaign.

CFC Give Happy imageWelcome and thank you for considering making a contribution through the annual Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).  Members of the Federal family continue to demonstrate that our commitment to public service extends far beyond the workplace.  Federal employees voluntarily participating in the CFC contributed millions of dollars to thousands of local, national, and international causes in both funds and volunteer time.  In 2020, CFC raised nearly $83.6 million for local, national, and international charities, and employees gave more than 86,700 hours of volunteer service towards the mission of CFC, and the need continues.

Soon volunteer campaign workers in your organization will reach out to every Federal employee to let them know how they can make a monetary contribution and/or pledge volunteer time to support organizations that help people in need.  This season, the CFC open solicitation period will run from September 1, 2023 to January 15, 2024.

During this time, it is another opportunity for all of us to join together and donate to charitable causes that motivate us. Through the CFC, we can directly donate time and resources to the causes we care most about.  Take a moment to find a cause that means something to you - whether it is sheltering families after a hurricane, helping biologists save an endangered species, tutoring a child through an after-school program, supporting families of our deployed troops, funding research to find a cure for cancer, or protecting our planet Earth.  The CFC has a charity for any cause you want to support.

The cornerstone of the campaign is the CFC Online Donation System (cfcgiving.opm.gov).  This year, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has a mobile giving app that will integrate full payroll deduction options.  For employees who may not have access to or decide not to use the electronic giving system, OPM will continue to make a paper pledge form available.

As a reminder, to improve financial security, the CFC no longer accepts cash donations.  The CFC Giving Mobile App replaces cash fundraising and allows federal employees to make the full range of donations from their secure accounts.  Popular CFC events such as bake sales or chili cook-offs are encouraged as campaign awareness and engagement events; however, their use as fund-raising events is no longer authorized.  Special events during your CFC season are still encouraged provided they focus on increasing employee awareness of CFC charities, their missions, and bring a higher level of employee engagement into the campaign.

Choosing a charitable cause to support is a deeply personal decision. The CFCNCA provides several resources to get the community thinking and talking about charitable causes. One way is through the Cause of the Week program. Causes are selected to represent all 25 National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) code areas in the CFCNCA, coincide with some national awareness days and holidays when possible, and represent the interests of the CFCNCA donor base.

Each week during the CFC, the campaign focused on a broad charitable cause area and some of its sub-causes. Click through each cause to find more information about that cause, tools and resources to support that cause area, and dollar statements illustrating what a donation in that cause area can do.
