Commentary: Kevin Zantt exemplifies DLA Culture of Caring

By Linda Thomas DLA Land and Maritime Acquisition

One of the most awesome things happened to me May 16.

On May 14, I went to the cafeteria. When I got to the register to pay for my lunch, I only had $5 in my hand; mind you I came into the cafeteria with $25. I was upset about losing $20 but just chalked it up as a lost.

The following day, Nate Jonyer, café manager, and café employees, Damercroft Craft and Mike Schmock, were talking about someone finding $20 and they were trying to figure out who lost the money. Nate and Mike were able to track the money back to me.

On May 16, I received a call from Kevin Zantt, supervisory customer relationship specialist in Land Customer Operations, that he found my $20. What a joy knowing that so many people made sure that the money was returned to its rightful owner.

Thanks to all of you that traced the money back to me. I also want to thank the DLA Culture of caring about people and the resiliency of the people I work around. What a blessing it is to work here. Returning the money ranks high with the DLA Culture that I experienced today.
