The department promoted fire safety during the event. Emergency services displayed a 100-foot ladder truck, personal protective gear and a variety of firefighter tools. Additionally, the team gave fire apparatus tours to families.

“We always have a good time interacting with the military community at DSCC,” said Bob Watkins, firefighter and EMT. “They always appreciate what we do as we appreciate what they do. Any time we can assist with their unit or family events, we gladly assist with whatever they need.”

Several children and adults were interested in the tools and equipment that firefighters used on a daily basis along with learning how a fire pump works.
