COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Supply Center Columbus is gearing up for another wintry weekend of single-digit temperatures. There are several ways DSCC employees can find out about changes to the installation’s operating status during winter weather and other emergencies.

Protecting Ohio waters this winter – be salt smart

Did you know that it only takes one teaspoon of road salt to permanently pollute five gallons of water to a level that is toxic for freshwater ecosystems? While salt application to roadways is a common practice for driver safety, the excess salt may pollute streams and lakes making it difficult for fish, frogs, mussels, insects and waterfowl to survive.

In honor of Dr. King’s fight for freedom, justice and equality and his allegiant service to mankind, the Defense Federal Community gathered to celebrate his life and legacy during a special program Jan. 10 at the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Operations Center.
